Numerical Solution of the Duffin’s Equation based on 4th Order Runge-Kutta Solver, with and    without Taylor’s Approximation

ADEWOLE Olukorede. O,Esholomo John. O, Lawrence Morolake. O,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.25154.]

The Duffin’s equation arises in the motion of a simple pendulum. It’s been presented considering a Taylor’s approximation of the first few terms in the sine series. Based on this approximation, a few numerical values have been presented for the numerical solution of the differential equation based on one of the ODE solver, fundamentally 4th order Runge-Kutta based. Results were also presented without the Taylor’s based approximation.

Situation and Countermeasure of Road Traffic Safety

Bi Xiaohui, Lu Haiyang, Hu Jinghui, Ma Chenhao and Bu Mei,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.25558.]

Based on the traffic accident mechanism in the context of the increasing serious road traffic situations in China, road safety status and hazards were analyzed and studied. From the view of safety system engineering, dangerous behavior of humans and dangerous states of objects in the road traffic system s could be eliminated by implementing scientific and rational urban road traffic safety management method, reinforcing traffic participants’ safety awareness and comprehensively coordinating the relationship among roads, traffic flow and road administrators. Based on the analysis of main road accident characteristics, methods to prevent and control accidents have been put forward, which can not only make a scientific foundation set up, but also give a direction for further research on safety.

Highway Traffic Safety Research

LU Hai-yang, BI Xiao-hui , MA Chen-hao ,BU Mei, HU Jing-hui,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.25964.]

In recent years, the road traffic safety situation in China has been improving year by year. The number of road traffic accidents, the number of deaths and the number of injuries have declined year by year, but the situation is still grim. The number of deaths in traffic accidents and the number of accidents are still at a high level. In recent years, traffic accidents on heavy road have occurred frequently, and road traffic safety problems are still outstanding. The serious situation of road traffic safety production and frequent occurrence of accidents have concentrated on the contradiction between the current transportation safety production and the rapid development of the industry, and there are still many weak links and outstanding problems in the safety management of the industry.

A review on carpooling

ZHU Ye, ZHU Xinyuan, LIN Fei,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.28086.]

The carpool travel mode originated in the United States, where the government encouraged more people to combine travel by setting the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane on the road and achieved remarkable results. In the past ten years, a batch of carpool service companies such as Uber, Lyft, Zimride, Blablacar, and Comuto have emerged in Europe and the United States, which has effectively promoted the rapid development of carpooling in the daily traffic field. While China started to use the Internet carpooling model since 2005, it is subject to objective factors such as cultural backgrounds, imperfect laws and regulations. Thus the development is relatively slow. It was not until 2010 that signs of vigorous development of carpool have emerged in megacities such as Beijing、Shanghai、Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Especially young commuters are more willing to choose carpooling.

Research review on variable steering lane

ZHU Xinyuan, Zhu Ye, Yu Wenqi, Wei Yuzhao,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.28792.]

With the continuous improvement of urbanization level and the continuous expansion of car ownership, urban congestion has become a hot issue for residents. The key to the problem of urban congestion lies in the blocking of intersection nodes. The application of variable steering lane can effectively utilize the existing road resources and improve the traffic efficiency of intersections. This article through to the analysis of existing variable lane orientation research status at home and abroad, expounds the current research status of variable lane orientation both at home and abroad and the shortage of variable lane orientation on the basis of the analysis emphasis of further research.

Fuel cell vehicle power parameter matching

Yu Wenqi, Wei Yuzhao, Zhu Xinyuan, Zhu Ye, Li Jianmei,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.29302.]

Faced with the negative impact brought by the automobile industry, including the increasingly serious environmental pollution and the short supply of energy pattern, countries around the world are constantly exploring and seeking for a new, green, sustainable development of the economic model, reasonable parameter matching is in the process of automobile design.Fuel-cell electric vehicles fit into such a trend. This thesis mainly around to drive motor, fuel battery, power battery and fuel cell electric vehicle power system parameters matching key parts, motor is discussed, and a method for determining the maximum power generally determined by the top speed and maximum gradability, the choice of fuel cell power is based on the power to determine the maximum speed of the car, according to the maximum speed, maximum torque and maximum gradability transmission ratio is determined

An experimental investigation for crack detection in rotor-bearing system

Jassim Farij Thijel and Mudher Al-hafidh ,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.30313.]

Crack in rotors such as steam turbines and centrifugal compressors is a hazardous phenomenon that oil and gas field confront which could lead to a disaster. Therefore, experimental work has been done to predict the existence of a crack in rotors through measuring the change in displacement in X and Y axes (orbit) during the rotor rotation. An experimental rig has been built to test full-size rotors using a set of measuring instruments that acquired an analog displacement signal and transform it into a digital signal then analyze it using LabVIEW software. The study found that at one-third of rotor critical speed the crack can be predicted if there is a change in the orbit diagram from inside orbitals whirl at forward 1/3 of critical speed to outside orbitals whirl at backward 1/3 of critical speed. This is due to the highest vibration that occurs at this speed, whereas this phenomenon did not appear when an un-cracked rotor has been tested. In addition, this study found that there is a direct proportion between size and number of orbitals with crack depth and this could be a significant indication to predict the appearance of crack at an early stage in the rotor which can prevent a catastrophic failure.

Research on Highway Upgrade Evaluation Method Based on Information Collection

ZHU Ye, ZHU Xinyuan, LI Jianmei, LIN Fei, ZHANG Rongji, [DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.31426.]

In order to improve the scientific evaluation of highway network upgrade evaluation, this paper analyzes highway traffic information collection and data processing methods, selects traffic volume, truck ratio, line type, etc. as the highway upgrade evaluation index, and builds the corresponding comprehensive evaluation model based on the analytic hierarchy process; Taking the national highway G308 in Zibo, Shandong Province as an example, the traffic information is processed and upgraded. The results show that after upgrading the road from a secondary road to a primary road, it can improve the transportation efficiency of the national trunk highway network, thereby alleviating the traffic pressure of the regional road network and promoting regional economic development

Kelvin-Helmholtz instability of superposed Rivlin-Ericksenfluids in hydromagnetics saturating porous medium

Sumit Gupta,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.C.8.4.33951]

This paper deals with the effects of kinematic viscosities, kinematic viscoelasticities of lower and upper fluid, the medium porosity, the medium permeability, square of the Alfv n velocity and surface tension on the instability of superposed counter-streaming Rivlin-Ericksen fluids in hydromagnetics saturating a porous medium. Graphs are plotted by giving permissible numerical value to the non-dimensional parameters. The imaginary growth rate of the perturbations increases with the increase in kinematic viscosities of the lower and upper fluid implying thereby destabilizing effects of kinematic viscosities on the system. The imaginary growth rate of the perturbations decreases with the increase in kinematic viscoelasticities of the lower and upper fluid implying thereby stabilizing effects of kinematic viscoelasticities on the system. The imaginary growth rate of the perturbations increases slightly with the increase in medium porosity implying thereby little stabilizing effect of medium porosity on the system. The imaginary growth rate of the perturbations decreases with the increase in the square of Alfv n velocity and medium permeability parameter, respectively.
